PARTNERS

Aeyat Ethiopia

Inspire Ethiopia (IE) is partnering with a nonprofit organization in Ethiopia called Aeyat Ethiopia (AE).  The mission of both organizations converges in that they both seek to increase access to quality education in rural Ethiopia. As a locally-based organization, AE serves as a vital link for IE with local, regional, and federal government authorities in Ethiopia as well as other stakeholders.  It oversees the successful implementation of IE projects and provides regular updates on project status to IE Board and Executive Committee.

Rotary Club of Potomac-Bethesda

Inspire Ethiopia (IE) has been partnering with the Potomac Bethesda Rotary Club. In partnership with Addis Ababa Rotary Club, the Potomac Bethesda Rotary Club received the Rotary Foundation Global Grant to support Inspire Ethiopia’s Wadeye Primary and Secondary School project.

Besserezukunft

Inspire Ethiopia works very closely with Besserezukunft (Better Future e.V.), a German NGO that focuses on increasing access to education and improving the quality of education in rural Ethiopia. Besserezukunft has collaborated with IE in providing school materials and equipment and has sponsored students.  It has also provided professional development training for teachers and conducted an extensive needs assessment for schools in IE target service areas.

St. Paul AaBET Hospital Trauma Center

Inspire Ethiopia (IE) has established a partnership with St. Paul AaBET Hospital Trauma Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  IE members volunteered their services to a program run by Dr. Rick Hodes (https://www.jdc.org/dr-rick-hodes/), an American physician who is working at AaBET.  During the summer of 2019, IE sent a Registered Nurse and a high school student for 5 weeks to provide service at the center.  They worked with Dr. Hodes at the center and assisted him and his team as they treated patients with spinal deformities and heart disease as well as a variety of other rare medical conditions.  Most of these patients were impoverished children from rural areas.

Sidwell Friends

Inspire Ethiopia is also partnering with the Sidwell Friends School located in Washington, DC.  Sidwell Friends is well recognized for offering a rigorous academic program while also emphasizing values of social justice, peace, community, environmental stewardship, and equity.  The school plans to organize a books/school supplies drive for the Wadeye School Library Project in the coming year.
